Booking train tickets for FlixTrain

The options of booking a train ticket so that you always have multiple choices. That is great, but it is not always simple to find your way! FlixTrain knows this,  which is why we offer booking instructions in order to help you book your ticket as easily as possible.  In these instructions, we will explain to you, step by step, how you can book online, using the app , in the Shop or directly from the train attendant.

Booking a ticket online

Step 1:  Choose your train trip in 3 clicks:

  • Enter the point of departure and destination and the dates you will depart and return.
  • Select the number of people traveling with you.
  • Click "Search" in order to find the best price for your trip.

As soon as you find your train trip, just click "Book" in order to put the trip into your shopping cart. Your seats in your shopping cart are reserved for 30 minutes on our website until you complete the booking.

Step 2: Pay for your train ticket

We offer the following payment methods to pay for your ticket:

  • with EC or credit card: Visa, MasterCard, or American Express
  • via PayPal: You can simply pay using your email address. To do so, you must have created a PayPal account previously.

We must point out that we do not accept payment via check.

After you select the payment method, enter the necessary information and click on "To Payment".

Step 3: Confirm via email

After you book your ticket, you will find a complete summary in your email inbox:

  • Date and time of departure and arrival.
  • Point of departure and arrival.
  • Summary of flat-rate charges.
  • Name of travelers.

You can print out your ticket with this confirmation and present it to the train attendant on the day of travel.

Ticket booking via smartphone app

  • Step 1: Download the FlixBus app for your smartphone from the App Store or Google Play.
  • Step 2: Reserve your trip.
  • Step 3: Pay for your trip via EC card, credit card, or PayPal.

You will receive an email confirmation including all the details of your upcoming trip.

If you would like to buy your train ticket in the Shop, simply come by one of our ticket offices: 

  • At the FlixBus ticket office in Berlin:

Booking your ticket on board

You can also purchase your ticket directly from the train attendant.

The receipt for cash payment on the train  is considered the ticket.

The safety of our little passengers is especially important to us. We therefore ask you to please note the following:

  • Up to 10 years: Please always be accompanied by someone who is of age.
  • 10-14 years: Children between 10 and 14 years old may travel alone if they have a declaration of consent from their parent or legal guardian (to be provided while booking). Your child is permitted to travel alone only on trips that do not have transfers and that take place during the hours of 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
  • Beyond 15 years old, there are no barriers to traveling alone. Just make sure that your child has all necessary documents with them.

Changing or canceling my ticket booking  

Regardless of how you booked your ticket  (online, over the phone, or in the Shop), you have the option of undoing your booking.
