Planned rail construction affecting FlixTrain lines

Here you find important information about planned rail construction that may affect your trip with FlixTrain. Check out which temporary stops or timetable deviations may apply for your trip below.

Germany:

FLX20 – Hamburg – Cologne

Due to engineering works (by DB InfraGO AG), from 16.03. to 28.03. several closures will occur in the Hamburg area. The FLX20 trains start and terminate in Hamburg-Harburg. Passengers are requested to switch to the S-Bahn lines S3 and S5 between the Central Station and Harburg. FlixTrain tickets are accepted by the S-Bahn Hamburg on this section.

Due to engineering works (by DB InfraGO AG), from 23.03. to 07.04. the following changes will occur depending on the direction of the travel:

  • Trains running to Hamburg will not stop in Düsseldorf (only the early train), Duisburg, Mülheim (Ruhr), Essen, Bochum, Gelsenkirchen. Wuppertal-Obermarmen (only the early train) and Recklinghausen (only the late train) will be offered as alternative stops
  • Trains running to Cologne will not stop in Recklinghausen and Essen. Gelsenkirchen will be offered as alternative stop (only the early train).

 

FLX30 – Aachen – Cologne – Berlin – Dresden

Due to engineering works (by DB InfraGO AG), from 23.03. to 07.04.  all trains will not stop in Bochum, Essen, Duisburg, Düsseldorf and Neuss. Varying from ride to ride Hagen, Wuppertal (Central Station or Oberbarmen) and Solingen are offered as alternative stops.

 

FLX35 – Hamburg – Berlin – Leipzig

Due to engineering works (by DB InfraGO AG), from 16.03. to 28.03. several closures will occur in the Hamburg area. The FLX35 trains start and terminate in Hamburg-Bergedorf. Passengers are requested to switch to the S-Bahn line S2 between the Central Station and Bergedorf. FlixTrain tickets are accepted by the S-Bahn Hamburg on this section.

During the same period, some trains running from Leipzig Central Station will depart up to 15 minutes ahead of schedule. The reason is also engineering works by DB InfraGO AG.

Due to engineering works (by DB InfraGO AG), from 02.04. until 21.04. the trains will run with slightly changed departure and arrival times in the Berlin area. During this time, all trains to/from Hamburg and Leipzig call at the lower platforms at Berlin Central Station.

On 20.04. and 21.04. all trains running from or to Leipzig Central Station will have extended travel times there (later arrival or earlier departure)

 

GDL strike

Due to the GDL strike call, there may be restrictions on regional transport lines of our cooperation partner DB Regio and S-Bahn Hamburg in the next few weeks. Please follow the current media reports and find out more on the bahn.de website before you start your journey.

Our FlixTrains and all other cooperation partners are not affected by the strike.
